FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Rooted

Short answers to the questions we hear most.

What is Rooted?

A program that helps every person build their relationship with Allah from within, through the concepts they live every day in faith, character, dealings and daily life. This shows in their identity and character, in their ability to choose happiness, to live with peace along their journey, and to reach their goals by the easiest paths. With children and young people, Rooted is a character-formation program that builds their identity and character.

Does Rooted replace Islamic studies at school?

No, it complements them. It focuses on understanding the meaning of each concept and connecting it to the student's daily life, in full coordination with school leadership.

Does Rooted give the traditional answers?

The usual answers, such as “because Allah commanded us”, “because we are Muslims” or “to enter Jannah”, are not wrong, but on their own they are not always enough. Rooted starts deeper: why does this concept exist? What happens when we act on it, and when we don’t? Always from the person’s own life. And “Allah commanded it” and “there is wisdom in it” go together: Allah permits the good and forbids the harmful, and life itself reveals part of the wisdom.

What makes Rooted different?

It discovers the roots a person already has before building, answers every “why” by its real effect in life, and welcomes every question instead of silencing it. It builds a direct relationship between the person and Allah from within, not an outward obligation, with one session a week and practical application in between so understanding settles slowly and firmly. The same concept is taught to every age in its own language.

How do I know if my roots are in harmony with Sunan Allah?

Your roots show in how you define every concept in your life: provision, success, failure, envy, prayer, other people. When those roots are wrong, weak or missing, it shows in your peace of mind, your decisions and your ability to reach your goals. Take one example: someone who blames every negative thing in their life on envy and the evil eye has less peace on their journey, is always wary of the people around them, cannot live naturally, and their whole level of happiness is shaped by one wrong concept, a root that exists in the wrong form, or one that has grown bigger than its true size. That is why Rooted begins with discovery: what is sound in you, what is incomplete, and what is missing.

Can you give an example of a Rooted answer?

If a child asks “Why do we pray?”, we speak in the language of their age: just as coins or rewards in a game help you do what you need to do more easily and quickly, prayer is what makes your heart calm, at ease and stronger in front of the things that upset or frighten you. Then they try it for a week and share what changed. The full example is on the Schools page.

Who is it for?

Schools from KG to Grade 12, universities (The Journey Begins) in coordination with the university, adults after university (Journey Pioneers), care homes free of charge, and families and organizations outside Egypt online.

How do sessions work?

One session a week per class or group, usually 8 sessions per cycle, with examples from participants' own lives and a practical application between sessions.

Arabic or English?

Both, depending on the school or group.

What approach does it follow?

A balanced, moderate Al-Azhar approach. Every concept is seen through Sunan Allah and three questions: why does it exist, what happens when we act on it, and what happens when we don't?

Who delivers the sessions?

Loay Abu Zaid, founder of Rooted, Hafiz of the Holy Quran and Al-Azhar University graduate.

How much does it cost?

Fees are arranged directly, based on the number of classes or groups and stages. Care homes are free.

Is Rooted available outside Egypt?

Yes, online, one-to-one or in groups: the same tracks in Arab and Gulf countries, and in any society with a different culture through a community, an Islamic centre, or as an individual or family.

How do we start?

Schools start with a free introductory session, and anyone can book a free 15-minute intro call from the website or message us on WhatsApp.
